An artisanal bakery whipping up delectable breads, muffins, bagels, and scones, Pinky Bakery is also home to some heavenly donuts. They offer five cream-filled donuts: coffee, custard, passion fruit, rose berry and black sesame. Though Pinky Bakery allows deliveries and pick-ups at their own licensed kitchen space in Kwun Tong, they often participate in collaborations or pop-ups too. Be sure to swing by their upcoming pop-up at K11 Art Mall from November 17-23!

Nuts Donut Shop

Located on the sloping streets of Soho, Nuts Donut Shop dishes up some of the best in artisanal donuts. Generously sized and wondrously soft, offerings include a citrus glazed iteration, a classic cinnamon sugar, and one glazed with bourbon infused icing— all free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. Founded by two donut lovers frustrated by the lack of options in Hong Kong, Hole Foods offers pillowy handmade donuts in a vast array of flavours. They’re always experimenting with fun combinations like mango sago or coconut cream and red bean (inspired by our city’s red bean ice drink), but have a divine selection of classics too. The regulars include chocolate cream, condensed milk cream, lemon cream, and vanilla custard donuts. Hole Foods has a physical kitchen space in Central; while you can’t stay for a bite, walk-in purchases are available.

The Pandan Pineapple Ginger Bombolini sees an unexpected fusion of Asian-inspired flavours

The founders of Dough Beings launched the business in 2019, motivated by a mission to master the art of dough starting with the bombolini. And master it they did. One bite of their Italian donuts verify the 10,000 hours put into achieving an unmatched cloud-like dough texture. This feat is one that many Hong Kongers seem to have recognised, as Dough Beings has fast become one of the most successful “Instagram bakeries” in the city, with pre-orders selling out in mere minutes. They also boast an incredible lineup of unique flavour combinations that change on a monthly basis. In celebration of their 3rd anniversary, the November menu includes all-time favourites such as French strawberry cake, banoffee pie, everything cream cheese salmon (yes, a savoury donut!), and pandan pineapple ginger. Securing a box of Dough Beings requires fast fingers, so follow their Instagram page to stay ahead of the game.

A post shared by Donut Vission (@donutvission)

Donut counterpart to Cookie Vission, Donut Vission serves up classic old fashioned and glazed donuts, flavour-filled iterations (think Vietnamese coffee, pumpkin pie, and more), cinnamon sugar donut holes, donut fritters and an unorthodox invention of their own: the square donut. Currently available in one variation only, the square donut is stuffed with hazelnut praline, roasted hazelnut and praline mousseline. To complete the millefeuille dream, a square of caramalised puff pastry lays atop.

J.CO Donuts

Hailing from Indonesia, J.CO brings an expansive array of indulgent doughnuts to their three locations in Hong Kong. From sugar-glazed and chocolate-dusted classics to cream-filled cronut renditions, the creative options are endless. The Don Mochino is filled with light Cappuccino cream before being topped with dark Belgium chocolate, while Mr. Green Tea is finished with green tea icing and then coated in a crispy almond chunk.

Bakehouse

With lines stretching round the block in both their Wanchai and Soho locations, Bakehouse needs no introduction.  Opened by former Four Seasons executive pastry chef Gregoire Michaud in 2018, the artisan bakery quickly rose to cult status, with their famed sourdough egg tarts stealing the limelight as a signature baked good. However, Bakehouse doughnuts are not one to miss: fluffy bread gives way to a smooth, indulgent filling including decadent chocolate hazelnut, creamy vanilla custard, tangy raspberry jam or refined matcha cream.

Dough Bros

Renowned for their delightful hand-rolled pizzas, Dough Bros also wows in the donut department, with an indulgent selection including nutella, vanilla custard, strawberry jam, lemon pie or caramel. Each donut is freshly fried and made to order with a choice of regular or cinnamon sugar-dusting, making for fluffy fried morsels of decadence that ooze piping hot fillings.
