Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader invited a host of models to perform a display of acrobatics for a theatrical second instalment of Mugler’s Spring/Summer 2021 show. “It’s important to do the jaw-dropping scandalous stuff; that’s what this house is built on. But it’s also about trying to address an interesting day-to-day wardrobe too,” Cadwallader told Vogue. Following the CGI film presented in October, models including Bella Hadid, Hunter Schafer, Soo Joo Park, Alek Wek and Irina Shayk backflipped and performed unexpected stunts for an innovative and refreshing nine-minute spectacle in the absence of live shows.
The brand’s signature sensual cut-outs were showcased amongst seemingly gravity-defying bandeau tops, where shape-wear was incorporated to quietly smooth and sculpt the body while appearing almost invisible to the eye. Similarly, figure-skimming dresses were peppered with iridescent crystal appliqué, a mystical illusion of light and glitter outlining the wearer’s silhouette.

As part of Cadwallader’s goal to make Mugler accessible to its fans and not just an audience with a couture-level budget, the see-now-buy-now collection is available to purchase at fashion.mugler.com
