Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham have had a whirlwind of a year. The young couple tied the knot this past April and attended their second Met Gala together while Nicola just wrapped filming a Hulu series, Welcome to Chippendales as Brooklyn works on honing his skills in the kitchen. Although the two haven’t even been wed 6 months, the lovestruck pair enjoy the trappings of married life, opting for cosy nights in and establishing quaint traditions like weekly trips to the farmer’s market.
While Nicola wasn’t the biggest fan of Brooklyn the first time they crossed paths (at Coachella no less), one night together on Halloween is all it took for the two to become inseparable. Nicola’s visit to Brooklyn in London sealed the deal. “Before she was about to leave, I bought the last seat on the plane and flew back to New York with her. That’s the moment I knew I never wanted to be separated from her.” And the rest is history.
Where do you both call home? What are your favourite things about London and LA?
We travel quite a bit, but when we’re together it always feels like home no matter where we are. Every time we go to London Brooklyn gets so excited to show me all the places he grew up. When we’re in LA we have our own little traditions that make us happy. Every Sunday we go to the farmers market and it’s the little things like that make it feel like home. Los Angeles is where we spend most of our time.
You both have many siblings. What was it like being part of such a large family? Are you looking to start a large family of your own someday?
Nicola: I couldn’t imagine my childhood without so many kids around. I love the beautiful hecticness that comes with having a huge family, I feel so lucky to be so close with all my siblings.
Brooklyn: It was nice to grow up with siblings so close to my age, we are very close.
Are you looking to start a large family of your own someday?
Nicola: My mom is my biggest idol and my best friend. I can’t wait to be a mom one day. I hope that I am just like her.
Brooklyn: Yes, I would love as many kids as possible, but it is really up to Nicola.
How does a relationship in the spotlight affect you both? How do you stay grounded with all of the external commentary and pressure and how do you two support each other during tough times?
We always have each other’s back, no matter what. At the end of the day we’re best friends and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We don’t think about our relationship as being in the spotlight we just think about us as being in a relationship.
Can you tell us some things on your bucket list to do together? What are some bucket list items you’ve already crossed off?
Nicola: I grew up going to the south of France most summers so being able to go there with Brooklyn on our honeymoon meant so much to me.
Going to the Met together, not once but now twice was definitely on our bucket list. It’s an honour to be invited by Anna and we hope to continue to be part of it for years to come.
Shooting our first campaign together was also on our bucket list. It didn’t feel like work, we had so much fun. We can’t wait to find to other ways to collaborate together again professionally.
When you first met Brooklyn, you weren’t his biggest fan. How did your opinion of him change that one Halloween party? Can you share a funny anecdote from before you started dating?
Nicola: I first met Brooklyn at Coachella through my brother Diesel. The first night we actually hung out was at that Halloween party and we have been inseparable ever since.
What is one quality that you treasure the most in each other?
Nicola: His kindness, his heart, and his sensitivity.
Brooklyn: She is perfect in every way.
Do you remember the moment that you realised you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together?
Nicola: That first trip in London when he bought the last seat on the plane and told me he didn’t want me to go without him.
Brooklyn: The first time she came to visit me in London. Before she was about to leave, I bought the last seat on the plane and flew back to New York with her. That’s the moment I knew I never wanted to be separated from her.

You began your acting journey with theatre. What do you love about theatre that differs from the silver screen?
Nicola: One of my favourite jobs I’ve ever done was getting the opportunity to work with such incredibly talented people in Blackbird. It was truly a dream come true for me. What type of roles would you like to play in the future?
Nicola: I love when I get to dive deep into a character that’s very different from me and I get to see the world through their eyes.
