EcoDrive Hong Kong has released its third Enough Plastic campaign! Since its inaugural launch in 2019, the campaign has successfully brought attention to the city’s dependence on single-use plastic (SUP) and its negative impacts on the environment.
Fronted by Hong Kong’s rising stars Lin Min-Chen, AnsonBean, Mandy Tam, and Adam Pak, the third Enough Plastic campaign will air until May 31st in shopping malls and on billboards across the city. Playful yet thought-provoking, this year’s campaign takes a more lighthearted approach to encourage public participation in saying no to SUP.

As Hong Kong reopens its doors to the world, EcoDrive has also joined hands with those in retail and the food and beverage industry to switch out SUP items for more environmentally friendly alternatives over the course of the campaign month. However, much still needs to be done. “Although covid policies are no longer in place, when I walk around the streets and run on beaches, I still see improperly disposed masks littering public places together with plastic candy wrappers, plastic bottles etc … We need to give our children a cleaner living environment,” states Yolanda Choy, co-founder of EcoDrive.

In an effort to raise awareness about the city’s SUP dependence among younger generations, EcoDrive is hosting an art and writing competition for kindergarten and primary school students surrounding plastic reduction. Schools and businesses are also encouraged to host a “No SUP Day“ on May 30th to participate in the campaign. “If we can just change one habit, we can make a difference,” says Tansy Tom, co-founder of EcoDrive, “We hope to empower our younger generation to speak up and make good choices for a cleaner Hong Kong.”
