Peter Do is now the new creative director of Helmut Lang! Following the announcement of his appointment last Thursday, Do’s new role officially begins, effective today.

While he remains at the helm of his eponymous brand, the fashion designer will take the reigns for both Helmut Lang’s womenswear and menswear and is set to debut his first collection for the brand at New York Fashion Week in September for the Spring/Summer 2024 season. In an Instagram post, he cites Helmut Lang’s impact on his fashion education and expresses his elation about continuing to make a change in the industry with the brand.

“I needed to continue doing my part in helping the city I love most regain its stature as the center of gravity for everyone who cares about radical thinking in fashion. During the most formative days of my own fashion education, no one embodied this spirit more definitively than Helmut Lang.” He continued, “As such, it is my deep honor to be entrusted with ushering in the next chapter of Helmut Lang’s legacy. I am thrilled to learn from the foundations this house stands on and to continue creating new, energetic clothes that inspire people to challenge their understanding of what is possible when it comes to expressing their individuality.”
