The Chopard Art Evening in Cannes is one of the highlights of the film festival, merging art, fashion and film. I was lucky enough to have the honour of attending such a prestigious event.
Chopard has served as the official partner to the Cannes Film Festival since 1998, and this year, the Maison was at the forefront of the world’s greatest cinema event once again.
After flying in from London, I was whisked to the Hotel Martinez. It felt like stepping on to a movie set! Onlookers and paparazzi were swarming the entrance waiting for the celebrities dressed in the finest of fashion leaving for various red carpets and parities that surround the film festival.
Upon arrival, I was welcomed to the Chopard rooftop, an exclusive location for private clients, press and friends of the brand. With a much needed glass of champagne in hand, it was time to get ready for the event. The team from Neville Hair and Beauty from London were flown in to help with all hair and beauty needs. So with my hair done it was time for makeup with the wonderful Charlotte Tilbury team in the privacy of my fabulous room over looking the Côte d’Azur.
Glam done, I slipped int0 my stunning Maticevski white strapless gown for the black tie event. I was in for several surprises, including a fashion show, dinner and various performances. This year Caroline Scheufele chose “Art” as the theme of the 2023 red carpet collection and her glamorous grand soirée.
For the 2023 red carpet collection, Caroline Scheufele designed no less than 76 haute joaillerie masterpieces that nod to the seven arts: architecture, sculpture, painting, music, literature, dance and cinema — all forms celebrated through fascinating works reflecting Caroline’s boundless curiosity. The prominent place she occupies in the creative world, her prolific travels and the artists she encounters shape her vision and open up vast realms of inspiration that she brilliantly reinterprets through these treasures.
The evening also saw the beginning of a new chapter in Chopard’s history with the launch of Caroline’s first couture collection. The fashion show was magnificent. Not only did I witness the stunning unveiling of the red carpet jewellery collection, but also the beautiful silhouettes of Caroline’s latest fashion venture which were paired with shoes by iconic footwear brand Casadei. The pièce de résistance was the show finale when icons Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova and Natalie Vodianova cascaded down the catwalk.
Post fashion show, we were led to the dinner which was of a spectacular magnitude. I was lucky enough to be sitting next to long-time friend Poppy Delevingne (dripping in CHOPARD diamonds) and was also surrounded by the likes of models Jodran Barrett, Lina Zhang, and Ashley Graham, who dazzled in her Dolce & Gabanna crystal dress. To say we all had fun is an understatement. The vibe was off the charts, with interludes of amazing dance performances. And as if that wasn’t enough, the ultimate surprise came in the form of Robbie Williams, who performed all of his famous hits which brought everyone to the dance floor! But alas, it was time for bed…
With another jam-packed day of events with Chopard I was invited to enjoy The Method Augustinus Bader Facial by world renowned facialist Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine — probably the most amazing facial I have ever had. So, with contoured cheeks bones and glowing skin I was ready to proceed with the day!
First up, it was time to celebrate Aespa, the first K-pop group to walk the Cannes red carpet as the ambassadors of Chopard. I was even lucky enough to have previewed the red carpet jewellery collection in person, which brimmed with carats of jewels I could only dream of !
Next up… the infamous red carpet. Dressed in my Sau Lee crystal dress and wearing makeup by the Charlotte Tilbury team, I was red carpet ready. Arriving in style in the official Chopard car, I was there to attend the red carpet premiere of La Passion De Dodin Bouffant (The Pot-Au-Feu) directed by Tran Anh Hung.
I am truly honoured to have experienced such an iconic festival with my Chopard family.
