最後一次高台跳水
回想起他生涯最後一屆的奧運，Tom Daley仍然感覺很不真實：「知道這將會是我最後一次的奧運，我感覺非常緊張，因為帶着很多壓力向期望，我很渴望可以完成到。」
當天他步出後台看到他的丈夫和兩個兒子，還有觀眾席上來支持他的家人和朋友，他想起自己是為了他們而站在這裏，不論比賽結果如何他都會感到開心。站在高台望向觀眾，Tom Daley心裏湧出很多情緒，感覺到這將會是他職業生涯中最後一個跳水比賽：「我感覺現在是正確的時間。現在是完結的好時機了。」
曾患上「空中失感」受傷
1994年出生的Tom Daley，在他6歲的時候已經開始接觸跳水，14歲已經獲得奧運跳水參賽資格出戰08年北京奧運。多年來跳水生涯當然亦有遭遇瓶頸的時候，他在準備2012年倫敦奧運比賽時就曾患上心理障礙Twisties（空中失感），更因為這個問題骨折受傷、頭部撞向高台兩次等。幸好他最後克服過來，在跳水場上表現更加出色。

YouTube公開同性戀情
在2013年Tom與當時伴侶Dustin Lance Black交往半年後親自公佈戀情，他說是因為當時有媒體以「Tom Daley不是同性戀」為題報道觸怒了他，他不想對任何人說謊和隱瞞些甚麼，於是在個人YouTube頻道「出櫃」。
Tom與Lance在2015年結婚，並育有兩名兒子Robbie與Phoenix，他說是大兒子Robbie說服他再參加多一屆奧運才退役。十多年過去，他變得更加自信不再隱藏自己的面向，甚至在不同社交平台都可以看到他和家人開心的一面。
開啟針織之路
多年來的跳水訓練，Tom Daley笑說他大部分的時間都只是穿一條短褲，很少人會如他般在工作時穿的衣服比在家休息少。提到他的衣着打扮，大家都會聯想到他的針織作品：從毛衣到獎牌套，在奧運短短兩星期觀賽期間他就已經織好五件織物。
Tom Daley在2021年開始了他的針織品牌 Made With Love，他對針織的熱愛亦開始廣為人知，同時幾年前他亦獲邀參加the Met Gala等時尚活動，慢慢從跳水走到時裝界。

享受鎂光燈的目光
決定離開跳水界之後，他說他可能對於幕前的工作有興趣，並已報道了洛杉機Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) 課程正式學習縫紉：「我懂得織和勾東西，但縫紉相關的東西是截然不同的知識，亦是學習不同方法如何去建構事物。」他已經準備好幾款內褲設計準備推出，預計下年亦會正式推出他的泳衣品牌。

至於還會不會業餘跳水，Tom帶點猶豫地回應「不知道。」他說「如果要跳水的話是很困難，你需要合適的設備和泳池，一般人來說是不會有這樣的裝備。」正如他所言，從一個階段跳到另一階段都需要時間調整：「我花上我一生去做這件事（跳水），其實要將它放下是很困難。」
對於過去和將來Tom都抱樂觀正面的態度：「目前作為英國獲得最多獎牌的跳水運動員，我感到非常自豪。當我回顧過去時，我對自己所做的事情感到非常非常滿意。」不論他將來向甚麼方向發展也好，都會記着Tom Daley是一個堅持不懈、在實現夢想之前不會放棄的跳水運動員。
