Most memorable Hong Kong moment.
Opening our first store on On Lan Street in Central, and then opening the R. Sanderson London Boutique in the most prestigious luxury retail location in Asia, the Landmark in Central.
A great spot for shopping.
It would of course be the Landmark and Elements! We have boutiques in both of these great luxury retail locations, on either side of the harbour of Hong Kong and Kowloon. I do also like the old fabric and furniture shops in Central.
Favourite restaurants.
Hong Kong has so much to offer in terms of food and it could be either the street food of Mongkok District or dinner at the China Club – total variety.
Unmissable markets.
Visiting a ‘wet’ market in Hong Kong is definitely an experience…
Where to stay.
The Upper House Hotel at Admiralty.
Best place for a nightcap.
The rooftop of the China Club – I love climbing out of that window!
Best gallery or museum.
Alisan Fine Arts in Central, one of Hong Kong’s first contemporary Chinese art galleries, around since the 1970s.
Most mind-blowing view.
The Peak is hard to beat on a clear day.
The city’s best-kept secret?
Hong Kong is a concrete jungle but you are less than 20 minutes away from some of the most beautiful, natural and scenic hiking trails in the world.
Favourite neighbourhood?
Sai Ying Pun is very buzzy now and I hear the new Soho House Hong Kong will open there next year.
