Feathers were one of the biggest stand-out trends from Autumn/Winter 2019 fashion month. At Paris, New York, London and Milan, plumed ensembles gave an operatic extravagance to the scores of sleek tailoring that marched down the catwalk. Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Richard Quinn closed their shows with majestic evening gowns in dreamy neutrals, while Saint Laurent, Mary Katranzou and Prabal Gurung captivated the crowds with glow-in-the-dark and rainbow palettes. We saw feathered outerwear take on full force at Erdem, Loewe and Rochas, while feathered trims completed Anna Sui’s brocade frocks and Dion Lee’s ribbed corsets. See above for our favourite feathered outfits from the season.
