Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz returns to Hong Kong with two-part exhibition The Early Years 1970-1983 and Wonderland at Hauser & Wirth. Known for her unfiltered yet inventive approach to portrait photography, the exhibition will display rarely seen prints selected by the artist from her early years as a photographer alongside iconic fashion images from the past two decades, including snapshots for Vogue that has made her a household name.

Love In The Dream, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, 10 Chancery Lane is displaying the works of 44 artists for a visual narration of how Asian art has evolved through the last two decades. Upon entering Love In The Dream, guests will be welcomed by different salon style rooms that showcase how the artworks will come together in a real living space. Each room is decorated with specially curated pieces from artist groupings selected according to geography and art medium to express the distinct styles of every creative.

Zao Wou-Ki: The Eternal Return to China, Villepin Gallery
After their inaugural exhibition with Zao Wou-Ki last year, Villepin Gallery returns with another presentation with the Chinese-French master painter. Zao Wou-Ki: The Eternal Return to China is an exploration of the artist’s relationship with his native homeland, China, a place he left behind for over twenty years to pursue his career in Paris. Through a careful curation of rarely seen works and research based on newly discovered archive interviews with Zao, the new exhibition peels back the complex layers that comprise his works to shed light on the influence of Chinese culture and history that lies at the core of his art.

Sub9ture, The Stallery x Carnaby Fair
The Stallery has joined forces with local fashion brand Carnaby Fair for Hong Kong’s first ever “cap-art” exhibition Sub9ture. In support of Hong Kong’s creative community, the exhibition will spotlight capsule collections of caps, t-shirts and NFT digital art by seven local subculture artists, from drag performers to tattoo artists, alongside digital installations and interactive experiences.

VV Franklin : 21 days at f22fotos

French photographer VV Franklin lifts the veil on 21 days of her life in hotel quarantine after travelling from France to Hong Kong. Using self-portraiture as a medium, she explores the themes of self-identity, mobility and loneliness in a setting of temporary confinement, a collective experience shared by many across the globe. Both professional and amateur photographers are invited to submit images taken during their quarantine in Hong Kong — chosen photographers will be given the chance to display their work in the f22foto space and enjoy a workshop with photographer Michael Kistler.

Josef Albers: Primary Colours, David Zwirner Hong Kong
David Zwirner Hong Kong presents the first solo presentation of Josef Albers (1888–1976) in Greater China. Curated by Brenda Danilowitz, chief curator of The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, the exhibition delves deep into Albers’ experimentation of primary colours in his works. The abstract painter combines red, yellow and blue with black for a kaleidoscope of colourful geometric forms that play with space and depth.

A celebration of local artisanship, Stories Encapsulated: Wood spotlights collaborations between traditional craftsman and contemporary artists, using wood as a medium to generate dialogue across generations, locations and creative disciplines. Marking the gallery’s second anniversary, the exhibition is co-curated by creative director Penelope Luk and Ken Chow, carpenter and founder of Yat Muk Studio.
