House 31’s sprawling, mansion-like qualities offer urban convenience with privacy and serenity. Its design promotes well-being through greenery, noise mitigation, and energy-saving elements, reflecting Hang Lung’s commitment to sustainability. Embodying Hang Lung’s commitment to balance, this residence offers a harmonious blend of urban living and tranquil retreat, world-class architecture and design, right next to Jardine’s Lookout.

Reflecting Hang Lung Properties’ vision for modern luxury, Will Lui shares that the architectural design of the residence focuses on spaciousness and timeless aesthetics. “Each compartment within the property boasts generous dimensions and well-defined shapes, complemented by optimal ceiling heights that enable interior designers to unleash their maximum creativity and allow flexibility in furniture arrangement.” He continues, “In terms of materials, only high-quality, durable, and human-centric ones were employed, which align with the overall design ethos but also exhibit classic and lasting characteristics. The façade of 23-39 Blue Pool Road is adorned with a marble exterior, accentuated by copper details and double-layered glass curtain walls. Furthermore, the inclusion of thermal insulation materials, along with the innovative folding angles of the glass curtain walls, provides dual insulation effects, ensuring a comfortable indoor controlled environment throughout the year.”

Some of the key design elements that ensure this property stands out among other luxury developments are its commitment to sustainability, innovative integration with the natural site characteristics and a focus on timeless elegance. States Will, “Hang Lung is a pioneer to sustainability, as evidenced by the development on 23-39 Blue Pool Road recognized as the first project in Asia to receive the prestigious LEED Gold certification and also the first international pilot program to achieve this certification among the largest projects in China.” He continues,“The development features a distinctive 200-meter-long wall that skillfully utilizes the terrain, seamlessly blending the artificial hillside with the natural landscape. Recognizing the growing interest among affluent buyers in art collection, the design also includes dedicated spaces for showcasing clients’ artworks.”

In interior design, the development particularly excels, commissioning international design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) to craft the interior, maximizing the benefits of high ceilings, abundant natural light, and spaciousness. Elaborates Will, “The main design concept of House 31 centers around an urban couple with a passion for art who make use of the house as their “art gallery” and display their acquired collections from global travels. The space showcases works by Elsa Jean de Dieu, Andy Warhol, Masayuki Tsubota and Cynthia Sah. Yet despite the luxe materials and captivating artworks on display, House 31 evokes a sense of comfort rather than ostentation. The interplay of colors and textures creates a lively yet tranquil atmosphere, imbuing the home with personality and warmth. Moreover, the interior design has achieved a high degree of flexibility, allowing room functions to be easily adjusted according to family needs. This modular approach enhances the versatility of the space. Exquisite lighting design provides soft illumination that complements natural light, while the furniture, predominantly Italian in design, features warm neutral tones, such as soft beige and rich brown, ensuring an elegant and cohesive overall aesthetic.”
