Tulips, pastels, bunnies. What’s not to love about Easter? It’s one of my favourite holidays and with its impending arrival I asked my favourite tablescape authorities around the world from New York to Hong Kong, what their table tops will look like this year. I hope you feel inspired to lay a beautiful table, gather friends and family around, and feast after seeing their creations. I know I certainly do.

“Our Aurora print table linens in Printemps is the starting point of our pastel palette which is always an Easter go-to. This is a proprietary design and our dream colour combo for the holiday. We grounded our pastel tablescape with warm neutrals, such as our Onyx Eggs from Turkey, and our guest of honour, a brown bunny named Archie. We never want our tables to feel stuffy, so we offset the silverware and crystal glassware by serving Peeps, Jelly Beans and bonbons for an amuse bouche. Starting off with something silly sets the tone. Another light-hearted appetiser we love to serve is Devilled Eggs, which would also look elegant on the CreArt two-tier server. Hide extra easter eggs – or even better, make an easter scavenger hunt, to give the grownups a chance to finish another bottle of wine.”

“Spring brings in a new burst of life and always feels a bit optimistic and fresh. Our clean, light and contemporary tablescape combines white with various shades of blue that echoes the lightness and brightness of the season. Tablecloths are the canvas for all overall themes and this blue and white Leitner Linen in a traditional pattern is a perfect classic starting point. We brought in a variety of textures with our delicate linen placemats, bestselling bamboo ceramic plates and fun glassware that adds a hint of whimsy and splash of colour to the overall look. As a finishing touch, we added springtime flowers to add some pastel freshness without too much sweetness.”

“Around Easter, my garden in East Hampton starts to wake up. The daffodils and the tulips start to bloom. However, the weather is still slightly crisp for an outdoor get together. This is why I have chosen to create my Easter lunch set-up in my small garden room. The pale green walls and the floral upholstery on the banquette informed the tablescape. I started with the beaded Dahlia placemat of my friend tabletop designer Kim Seybert. It is a beautiful and delicate piece in pretty pastel shades. I then layered some Juliska blue and white plates. For the centrepiece, I used gypsophiias and blue hydrangeas to evoke the clouds and the sky. In between are Pink Shell Obelisks from my own home collection. I really wanted an Easter lunch in the garden atmosphere and I think this table setting captures that experience.”

“I had fun setting this Easter-themed table because Spring is all about colour and playfulness which really sets the mood. At Tabla all of our collections are created to be mixed and matched, and this bright and happy table uses various collections ranging from our whimsical dessert collection with a rabbit motif, to the Parsi Garden collection featuring hints of magic and fantasy. The Mughal-period inspired flora charger in pistachio green brings everything together perfectly. No Easter table is complete without bunnies and creations by candy queen Simmi Malhotra of Sim’s Sweet Shop. Her pastel-coloured candies are the perfect finishing touch.”

“My Easter tablescape this year is a celebration of all the different cultures and countries that I call home, including my new house in Portugal where I’m celebrating this year. Flowers are always the starting point for me and these festive and fun green, pink and yellow centrepieces are a mix of finds from the Lisbon market and my garden. The Chinoiserie fine bone China is a Jasper Conran for Wedgewood set I’ve had for 20 years, and the champagne glasses are by CreArt. The eclectic curation of vases are a combination of Chinese vessels, a Les Ottomans jug, and the new iconic Ellermann striped pots. The Portuguese Azulejos tile patterned plates are by Ceramicas La Linha and the “Pastel de Nata” egg tarts are a well-loved traditional treat.”

“An al fresco lunch in Palm Beach under a canopy of palm trees and a decades-old Banyan tree is the perfect backdrop for Easter. The starting point for my tablescape is the Gardenia Placemat from my Spring 2023 collection. It is a fully beaded placemat with three dimensional gardenias made of paillettes. It’s in shades of white, ivory and yellow. I carried the colours to the flowers which include mimosas and ranunculus. Since the placemat is almost like a bouquet, I kept the plates simple. I added our seafoam classic napkins to echo the ocean in the distance, and a fun napkin ring made of little balls in natural materials.”

“The palette and inspiration for our Easter table was influenced by spring florals and the wide selection of flowers from the local market sourced by florist June In March. An abundance of pastels take centre stage placed in a hand-blown jug in a nonchalant way. The earth laughs in flowers and life is bursting again after a cold winter, signalling hope for new beginnings. Oversized Aquazzura Home pink cherry blossom flower plates bloom on top of a pansy tablecloth and napkins. Coloured glassware always adds a pop to any tablescape, lifting it immediately and these Summerill and Bishop Italian Murano glasses reflect a variety of colours pending the light they are in. An ode to my forever home, Hong Kong,  I’ve paired the flatware with the Sabre bamboo cutlery that I use almost daily in my home.”

“Is there a flower happier than the Icelandic Poppy? This Spring in Bloom tablescape mixes materials, colours and textures to create a fun and joyful look. The tablecloth, placemats and plates are all muted to let pops of yellow and green shine through. The whimsical poppies are so expressive and the spectrum of colours they cover from blush to orange are the stars of the show. Finally, the mix match of Irish linen napkins bring a sense of informality to the table, perfect for a casual spring feast.”

“Easter is full of fantasy: magic bunnies hiding golden eggs, explosions of floral prints and outdoor celebrations galore. My spring table starts with a chintz cloth in A Floral Bouquet, Mario Buatta’s favourite pattern by Brunschwig and Fils. For flowers, bunches of technicolor tulips are gathered in lush arrangements spilling onto wicker “basket” placemats. It’s all a fitting scene for a Mother Goose rhyme – and THE occasion to sport a pair of bunny ears in matching chintz. Imaginations run wild!”
