The Crown Season 4
The Crown returns for Season 4, with Emma Corrin making her debut as Princess Diana and Gillian Anderson starring as Margaret Thatcher. The young Lady Di will be a focal character this season, with scenes depicting the budding, high-profile relationship between Diana and Prince Charles, as well as how the people’s princess was caught under the magnifying spotlight of the public’s eye following her involvement with the monarchy.

V for Vendetta
Based on the eponymous novel, V for Vendetta revolves around a mission between the masked V (Hugo Weaving) and Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman), when the unlikely pair form an alliance following a life-or-death situation where V heroically stepps in to save Evey. V plans to overthrow the fascist and totalitarian British government in a futuristic dystopian society, although is clouded by personal hatred towards the government. Yet, the insightful V is charismatic with a penchant for justice, encouraging his fellow citizens to rise up, revolt and restore peace and freedom in a country full of corrupt politicians.

Hillbilly Elegy
Directed by Academy Award Winner Ron Howard, Hillbilly Elegy follows J.D. Vance (Gabriel Basso) as a family crisis forces him to leave his otherwise idyllic life to return to his Appalachian family and its accompanying complexities and tolls. This poignant, personal memoir offers insight into a family dynamic that swings from triumph to struggle at the blink of an eye. As Ron Howard’s Netflix debut, and with a star-studded cast of Oscar nominees including Amy Adams and Glenn Close, Hillbilly Elegy will almost certainly be an Oscar contender come awards season.

A Clockwork Orange
Directed by iconic filmmaker Stanley Kubrick and adapted from the 1962 Anthony Burgess novel of the same name, A Clockwork Orange follows the story of Alex (Malcolm McDowell), a cruel and twisted teenager and gang leader who’s drug-riddled brain fuels him into committing sadistic acts. After being caught and incarcerated, the convict submits to intensive rehabilitation therapy to shorten his sentence to two weeks. The therapy results in Alex becoming powerless to violence and the world around him, as his ex gang members come after him.

Shawn Mendes: In Wonder
Famous music video director Grant Singer directs the latest of Netflix’s music-themed documentaries, offering intimate insight into Shawn Mendes’ life, filmed over the past few years. The documentary launch date comes just days before the release of the 22-year-old singer’s fourth studio album, Wonder. Details surrounding the physical and emotional strain of Mendes’ rise to stardom are exposed, as we follow the artist’s journey to self-discovery.
