Another awards night means dazzling gowns and dapper suits galore — and at Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger, the Hollywood red carpet did not disappoint. On February 27th, 2022, A-listers and rising talents in entertainment all gathered for the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards to celebrate some of the best performances in film and television. And as expected, after last year’s virtual ceremony, this year’s attendees and nominees were more than ready to make their sartorial statements in person.

All eyes were on South Korean model-turned-actress Hoyeon Jung, who skyrocketed to fame after starring in South Korean Netflix thriller Squid Game as the quiet and strong-willed Saebyeok. The 27-year-old breakout star made her SAG Awards debut in a simple yet elegant custom Louis Vuitton gown, crafted from black silk jacquard adorned with crystal embroideries. The highlight of her glittering red carpet look, however, was the matching hair accessory tied at the end of her sleek braid — a ribbon inspired by the traditional Korean daenggi, a nod to the actress’ heritage. Some of her Squid Game co-stars also made an appearance at the event: Lee Jung-jae looked dapper in a navy Gucci suit, while Kim Joo-ryeong stunned in a multicolour ombre Zimmerman gown.

As per, Lady Gaga dressed to impress. While her white Armani Privé column gown might’ve been low on the shock factor compared to the grand entrances she’s made in the past, the dress’ crystal-embellished bustier and flare train, accessorised with a Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace, screamed old Hollywood glamour. In true Mother Monster fashion, she lent an edge to her dazzling ensemble with a pair of sky-high stiletto boots from Pleasers Shoes.

Selena Gomez, too, arrived at the SAG Awards in a column dress — a black velvet Oscar de le Renta with billowing shoulders, finished off with a silver Bulgari serpentine choker. Elsewhere, Jared Leto showed off his charm in sky-blue Gucci silk, while Ariana Debose shut down the red carpet in fuchsia Valentino couture fit for a royal ball.
