Repulse Bay reflects an easygoing mode of living in Hong Kong that is decidedly unlike the hectic city life you would find elsewhere on the island. Take a languid stroll across the expansive, sandy shore or take a dip before retreating to one of the beachside restaurants. While this quaint neighbourhood in the southern district is less accessible than most on the island, the minor excursion allows for a drastic change of pace in a relaxing, urban escape.

EAT & DRINK

Limewood

Limewood presents a mix of South East Asian, Hawaiian, South American and Caribbean flavours from its rustic, beachside setting. Fried fish tacos and margaritas are a lunchtime favourite, while the team has recently launched a breakfast menu featuring mouthwatering egg and bacon rotis or, for the healthier-inclined, chia and almond milk puddings amongst other early-morning delights.

Chef Pizzaiolo Michel handcrafts the pizzas using long rising dough, for a lighter, more digestible base. Signature pizzas include the Amalfitana consisting of buffalo mozzarella, tomato, porcini mushroom, rocket and parma ham, and daily chef specials including the Il Capo with black truffle, tomato, mozzarella, porcini mushroom and rocket. Those with a sweet tooth will delight in the Nutella Pizza – dough slathered with Nutella and topped with strawberries and banana.

Go luxe with Angus beef tenderloin with back truffle noodles, or stick to the classics with shrimp wonton or fish ball noodle soup. The restaurant is situated on the oceanfront promenade at The Pulse, where you can enjoy a relaxed seaside atmosphere while chowing down on the comforting local fare.

Built on what once was the iconic Repulse Bay Hotel, The Repulse Bay retains the charm and grandeur of its former host. The modern shopping arcade, restaurants and well-facilitated clubhouse make it the perfect pre- or post-beach destination.
