A premium household appliances brand that has epitomised Swiss excellence for over a century, V-ZUG once again joins a brilliant lineup of creators and curators participating in this year’s prestigious Milan Design Week. Long characterised by their commitment to a sustainable future, they’ve spent the past two editions of the fair exploring circularity and now shift to a focus on time and matter.
Leading the investigation into this year’s theme will be an installation by Italian architect and interior designer Elisa Ossino titled ‘Time and Matter’. The creative genius behind V-ZUG’s past two Milan Design Week installations, Ossino now joins forces with Milan-based designer and artist Henry Timi to craft a unique experience that delves into “the duality between humanistic design and archaic matter”. The collaboration, at its core, is an artistic interpretation of the ever-evolving kitchen space, and will also give rise to a capsule of numbered artworks.
While we’ll have to wait for the official unveiling of the installation at the Pinacoteca di Brera on Monday, V-ZUG has given us a sneak peek into their brand new Milan showroom. Also designed by Elisa Ossino, the space marks V-ZUG’s first ever flagship store in Italy and draws from the same subject matter that has inspired the brand’s Milan Design Week activities.
Located in the bustling Piazza San Marco, the V-ZUG Studio Milan is a contemporary oasis that fuses technological innovation with the purity of natural materials. Sleek lines, an understated colour palette reminiscent of V-ZUG’s product finishings, and the sculptural simplicity of HENRYTIMI furniture epitomise Swiss design. The showroom is kept relatively minimal with plenty of natural light, allowing the brand’s latest appliances to take centre stage. Incorporated into the space are V-ZUG’s soon-to-be-released 90cm-wide Grand CombiSteamer, the CombiCooler V6000 Supreme, and the award-winning RefreshButler.
The ‘Time and Matter’ installation at Pinacoteca di Brera, Sala della Passione, via Brera 28, Milan will be open between 10am to 7.30pm, while the new V-ZUG Studio Milan at Piazza San Marco 4 will open from 10am to 8pm — both from April 15 to 21, 2024.
