Vogue Living Design Awards 2024

At The Library, on the 39th floor of the Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, design banter amongst our winners filled the air along with tiered snacks and a free-flow of cocktails. Vogue Living was honoured to recognise the achievements of creative minds who have paved the way to evolving interior design, hospitality concepts, arts & culture, automobile design and urban planning with 20 distinguished award categories. Along with our acclaimed winners, we also welcomed William Lim, Managing Director of CL3; Tiffany Godoy, Head of Editorial Content at Vogue Japan and Ciara Byrne, Vice President of New Business Innovation at Condé Nast as our honorary presenters.

Best Set Design — Hong Kong Ballet: The Wizard Of Oz

Hong Kong’s performing arts scene has always been robust, and one of the oldest establishments, Hong Kong Ballet, captivates audiences with its family oriented extravaganza Wizard of Oz. An exciting interplay of dazzling costumes, sets, live music and avant-garde arts technology harmonises here.

The Best Boutique Hotel — Lanson Place Causeway Bay

In Hong Kong, where land is a precious resource, Lanson Place Causeway Bay still manages to pack a punch with its Art Décor allure. The Bas relief in the lobby, L’Orangerie’s striking mirrored ceilings and Salon Lanson’s 1950s-inspired custom-built furniture and pastel-hued rooms take centre stage.

Best Bar Concept — Kinsman

The city’s bar scene offers multi-sensory interiors and veteran mixologists working with libations that tell a story. Kinsman is a revival of Wong Kar Wai’s film In the Mood for Love with interiors that showcase Hong Kong’s rich heritage in the mural behind the bar and chequered flooring reminiscent of bygone shophouses.

Best Furniture Concept Collection — Roche Bobois: Bamboo Mood 

Building a furniture collection is all about bringing together a holistic living concept, where modular and singular additions will complement your design ideas. Roche Bobois’ Bamboo Mood collection of perforation screens, cocktail tables and rugs by designer Jiang Qiong Er are a reinterpretation of Chinese craftsmanship rooted in French flair.

Along the Grand Promenade, Hong Kong’s skyline is graced with a new iconic commercial landmark by visionary female architect Zaha Hadid. The building’s asymmetrical design simulates the blossoming bauhinia flower centred around advanced IT infrastructure ensuring these Grade A smart offices will elevate productivity. 

Best Sustainable Carpet Collection — Tai Ping: Biophilic Collection

Combining design and eco-conscious philosophy, sustainable carpets can brighten up your living spaces with a lower carbon footprint. Luxury carpet manufacturer Tai Ping’s Biophilic Collection, comprises eight couture pieces, which pays homage to the Japanese technique of Shibori using undyed, natural materials.

Bonaldo’s passion for true Italian craftsmanship is reflected in the Mellow ST dining tabletop, which stands out in a contrast of veneered wood and a rotating internal ceramic finish. Best Sofa Design — Minotti: Yves

The focal point in your living room should be bold and exude luxury. Minotti’s Yves is an organic, sculptural sofa which takes cues from the 1965 Mondrian dress by Yves Saint Laurent. Best New Restaurant Design — Roganic Hong Kong at Lee Gardens

Hong Kong diners are discerning about a restaurant’s zero-waste design philosophies. Helmed by founder and chef Simon Rogan, the newly-reopened Roganic Hong Kong at Lee Garden’s earthy interiors are fashioned with upcycled local wood by Enoch Hui of interiors firm Atelier E and reflect HK Timberbank’s ethos of ReCYCLE, ReDESIGN and ReLINK.

Best EV Car Design — Porsche: Taycan

Quenching the need for speed in green mobility, Porsche’s all-electric Taycan delivers a brilliant performance as it powers up to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It shapes the future with breakthrough charging abilities, reduces CO2 emissions and its iconic 4-point matrix LED headlights allow it to slice through turns with agility.

Best Armchair Design — Poltrona Frau: Archibald

Setting the ambience for a warm, cosy corner, Poltrona Frau’s Archibald armchair is upholstered in either their signature Pelle Frau®️ leather with contrasting stitching or a tonal, removable fabric. The vertical folds offer dimensionality and its slender, agile legs add a touch of timeless elegance.

Best Hotel Bar Design — Raffles at Galaxy Macau: Long Bar

Macau is a veritable getaway punctuated with world-class integrated resorts and is also home to the world’s first speakeasy of the fabled Long Bar in Raffles at Galaxy. Capturing the nuances reminiscent of the underground Macau caves that used Solera to age gin, there are also striking nautical elements like a porthole door entrance.
