The Exchange
This Netflix original is inspired by real-life events. Set in the 1980s, The Exchange takes us into the cutthroat world of the Kuwaiti stock exchange, a male-dominant climate that renders women invisible. There are only two women in the building, cousins Farida and Munira, and they refuse to stand idly by. Teaming up with a mission to turn the stock exchange on its head and fight against corruption, the two women make for an empowering disruption of the status quo. The Exchange stars previous Kuwaiti Netflix talent such as Rawan Mahdi, Mona Hussain and Mohammad Almansour.

Aggretsuko Season 5
For devoted fans of the animated series, the arrival of Aggretsuko Season 5 is bittersweet. Last season Aggretsuko’s accounting department got caught up in some shady business, and though chaotic, we saw Director Ton and Kabae eventually move back to the office in what seemed like a return to normalcy. At the same time however, Haida has left the trading firm and one can only hope for his happiness and a restored friendship with Aggretsuko. After taking its audience through the trials and tribulations of adult life via themes of belonging, dating and marriage, financial stability, friendship, and work, we can only hope that this final season of Aggretsuko will bring yet another dose of wisdom and introspection.

Those in search of a new light-hearted K-drama watch can look forward to Love to Hate You, a romantic comedy series spanning the course of 10 episodes. Yet another show navigating the predictable polar-opposites-in-a-fake-relationship trope, Love to Hate You follows entertainment industry lawyer Yeo Mi-ran and heartthrob actor Nam Kang-ho as they execute a three-month dating contract in pursuit of their own love-averse agendas.

Your Place Or Mine
Starring crowd-favourites Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, Your Place or Mine comes just in time for Valentine’s Day. Peter (Kutcher) and Debbie (Witherspoon) have been longtime best friends, and despite living on opposite sides of the country, continue to keep up with each other over the years. Hoping to simply help Debbie catch a break from her tired life as a single mom, Peter offers to fly over to Los Angeles to look after her son Jack while she spends a week in his New York city bachelor pad. But as Debbie navigates dating in the big apple, and a bond between Jack and Peter starts to grow, the two friends begin to wonder if they could be something more.

Directed by Christopher Landon, who brought us comedy-horror Freaky, We Have A Ghost is a supernatural family adventure movie that features 19-year-old Jahi Di’Allo Winston starring alongside David Harbour, Anthony Mackie, Tig Notaro and Jennifer Coolidge. Soon after he and his family move into a house that is rumoured to be haunted, Kevin (Winston) comes face-to-face with the resident ghost, Ernest (Harbour). Both intrigued and entertained by his mere existence, Kevin begins to upload clips of his ghastly friend online, whose popularity skyrockets overnight and turns him into a social media sensation. Ernest however, can’t recall the events of his past life and Kevin is determined to help. As they set out to uncover his story, Ernest fast becomes the target of the CIA and chaos ensues.
