The Recruit

An imprisoned former agency asset has hounded the CIA with letters threatening to expose the well-kept secrets of her relationship with them unless they clear her name — and easygoing Hendricks is the man for the job, apparently. Running the course of eight hour-long episodes, The Recruit marks the beginning of Centineo’s Netflix renaissance and an exciting evolution past teenage rom-coms.

Alice in Borderland Season 2
After two years since the show’s rise to pandemic stardom, Alice in Borderland returns to Netflix. Featuring Kento Yamazaki, season one of the Japanese sci-fi thriller series revealed that the end of the witch hunt was just in fact, the beginning. With more heinous games to come, there’s no telling if Arisu (Yamazaki) will find his way back to the real world or die trying.

Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area Part 2
The Professor’s scheming continues. Based on the original Spanish crime drama Money Heist; this Korean adaptation (and partial spin-off) for the most part, takes on the same characters and plot line. However, its backdrop of a North and South Korea on the cusp of fictional reunification adds another dimension to the relationships between the characters. With the introduction of a new crew member “Seoul”, season two will see the cerebral Professor and his gang complete the heist as authorities’ grip tightens.

Guillermo del Torro’s Pinocchio
Having gifted us with Cabinet of Curiosities just this past Halloween, award-winning filmmaker and visionary Guillermo del Toro looks to reinvent a classic children’s tale in this new Netflix original. Taking the form of a beautiful stop-motion animation, Guillermo del Torro’s Pinocchio is voiced by an all-star cast including Ewan McGregor, Cate Blanchett, Finn Wolfhard and Tilda Swinton.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical
This holiday, Roald Dahl’s little genius will grace our screens once more in a film adaptation of the Tony-winning musical. Dahl’s fantastical story of a brilliant child with more-than-lacking parents who takes a stand against her monstrous headmaster and seemingly grim fate, is revived once more with the help of Alisha Weir as Matilda, Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey, and Emma Thompson as the formidable Miss Trunchbull. Matilda The Musical is led by theatre director Matthew Warchus of the original West End production, and features music from composer and songwriter Tim Minchin as well.
