Openings And Offerings

Aesop Hollywood Road

The universe of Aesop is lent a Hong Kong twist at Aesop Hollywood Road. Located in the beating heart of Central, the brand’s new shop is a modern, aesthetic ode to the city through a myriad of design motifs: custom-made white tiles nod to tiling tradition, while suspended brass structures are reminiscent of bamboo scaffolding easily spotted among the streets. Planters aplenty sit at the centre of the store as an homage to the shop’s address Hollywood Road, a name said to have originated from holly shrubs growing in the area when said road was built.

If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle, ascend the stairs of the shop to reach Aesop’s Facial Suite, where you can close your eyes, relax and rejuvenate the skin with the brand’s custom formulations under the skilful hands of an expert facial therapist.

Releases To Watch

Byredo: Animalique Eau De Parfum

Take a walk on the wild side this autumn with Byredo’s new Animalique Eau De Parfum. In the same way that every individual is multifaceted, the Animalique is a complex scent comprised of intricate layers inspired by the concept of humans digging deep and channelling their inner spirit animal. Upon a light spray, refreshing notes of lemon and bergamot welcome the senses and gradually fade to unveil a warm floral fragrance of violet and mimosa. The olfactory journey ends with a final layer of white suede, amber and tobacco leaf — raw, earthy, authentic.

Diptyque: Les Mondes de Diptyque

As we welcome chillier autumn evenings, it is prime time to stock up on our favourite scented candles for a cosy night in. Cue: Diptyque’s new “Les Mondes de Diptyque” (“The Worlds Of Diptyque”) collection, which boasts a series of premium candles available in five mesmerising scents. Transport your spirit to Kyoto’s lush Arashiyama Mountain with the woody Temple des Mousses (“Moss Temple”), or venture through the Mexican rainforest to Las Pozas by lighting the La Forêt Rêve (“Forest Dreams”). Each candle is housed in colourful monolithic glass ovals reminiscent of Diptyque’s iconic logo, designed by Cristina Celestino. The best part? They are refillable!

Aesop: Ouranon Eau de Parfum

Transcend time and space with Aesop’s Ouranon Eau de Parfum — the sixth and final fragrance in the brand’s highly coveted Othertopias collection. A sparkling symphony of petitgrain, elemi and lavender make way to reveal a warm herbaceous heart, which is then lent a hint of spice by patchouli and tonka.
