Comme des Garçons’ cult retail space Dover Street Market is set to open its first beauty concept store in Paris at the end of May. The yet-to-be-named store will be designed by Japanese fashion designer and Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo and will take over a 2,150-square-foot space in the Marais district of the French capital.
In the same spirit as Dover Street Market’s existing fashion boutiques in Tokyo, New York, London, Beijing, Singapore and Los Angeles, the upcoming Paris beauty spot will feature products by a carefully curated selection of brands, as well as the complete Comme des Garçons fragrance collection, which currently consists of 60 scents.
This will be Dover Street Market’s first foray into the beauty market as well as its first location in Paris — a decision that adds to growing speculation that the lifestyle imprint is geared to fill the gap left by the now-shuttered cult Parisian boutique colette, which closed its doors in December 2017.
