Henry Jacques opens its very first standalone boutique in Elements bringing a curated selection of scents from over 3,000 in-house creations to Kowloon. Founded in 1975 near Grasse, the heart of haute French perfumes, Henry Jacques is known for their expertise in crafting one-off bespoke scents for a growing list of esteemed clientele. The brand is grounded in tradition and technique – an ancestral know how of over 5 generations that is continued to this day, and now readily available in Hong Kong.
The prestigious brand is steeped in heritage and rises above shifting olfactory fads, sourcing high quality, rare materials from across the world to create their unique cocktails.
The boutique itself merges the house’s historic Parisian roots with contemporary flair. The 460 square foot space was conceived and assembled in France from solid oak, before being meticulously packed and re-assembled in Hong Kong. The detail taken to ensure authentic French craftsmanship is an ideology reflected in the creation of each Henry Jacques perfume.
Meanwhile, the chevron-pattern flooring is finished in a hand-stained brown patina, while sculpted basswood mouldings are accented with gildings and complemented by a matte gold ceiling adorned with a Porta Romana “Bianca” chandelier.
The Corian perfume organ is a centrepiece at the storefront, while a neighbouring wall houses the 50 precious gemstone coloured “Les Classiques” collection, presented in hand-blown crystal flacons. The premium space is softened with the likes of velvet stools, “Bergère 1930” armchairs and Aki Kuroda lithographs, creating an intimate space for guests to discover their signature scent.
