With the second season of Bridgerton nearly upon us, it’s high time we all got abreast of Regency era-everything. Who better to take our cues from than Mother, Dame Pat McGrath herself, who today announces the second drop of her Pat McGrath Labs x Bridgerton II make-up collection – with the help of an exciting new talent.
Who better than a familiar face? “The instantly iconic beauty and alluring actress, Nicola Coughlan, has stolen our hearts as Penelope Featherington, A.K.A. Lady Whistledown, of the Shondaland and Netflix hit series Bridgerton,” McGrath tells Vogue. “I’m thrilled to introduce her as my new McGrath Muse and the fabulous face of this new collection.”

As an avid fan of the show, and after gleaning a sneak peek at what’s to come in season two, McGrath knew that the “divine” Coughlan would be the perfect person to show off the new products; in particular, the (limited edition) MTHRSHP: Belle of the Ball Palette, which houses an array of colourful and luxurious shades. “Brave, bold and beautiful, Nicola embodies inspirational individuality, sophisticated strength and an independent spirit – I can truly say she is the Belle of the Ball!”
Seen in the campaign video getting stuck in to the covetable collection – which is also home to a kohl eyeliner, lipstick, blush palette and body shimmer – Coughlan shows off a next-level diffused feline flick, gorgeous alabaster skin and a Regency-appropriate rosy lip after using the range, which goes on sale 23 March. “The shoot was so much fun,” she says. “It was super major! I’m such a make-up girl and the Belle of the Ball palette is so pretty and sparkly.”
Coughlan is also a fan of the SatinAllure Lipstick in Negligee which, she says, is the perfect nude. “Many nude lipsticks wash me out – but this is so creamy and soft. It’s lipstick perfection!” She won’t be alone in being obsessed with it all, either. The new products deliver the kind of shimmer and shine that McGrath is so famous for, in an array of complexion boosting shades. It’s truly the make-up that dreams are made of.
