Beauty retail giant Sephora is officially setting up shop in Hong Kong with the grand opening of its new flagship store at IFC mall in early September. Previously functioning as an e-commerce platform, the new and improved Sephora Hong Kong will now pivot on an omni-channel model boasting an upgraded online platform and a new 4,200 brick-and-mortar store (taking the place of Zara) where customers will have access to bespoke beauty services, interactive elements, exclusive masterclasses, VIP events and — most importantly — a plethora of beauty products to play with in person.
With the largest selection of exclusive, new, and international brands across categories of skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care, Sephora will give its Hong Kong customers unprecedented access to cult beauty favourites such as Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, Fenty Beauty, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Natasha Denona, Pat McGrath Labs, Farmacy, Olaplex and OUAI.
“The new Hong Kong store will be an impressive addition to our portfolio of stores in Asia, where we are enjoying exceptional growth,” said Sephora CEO Chris de Lapuente. “Sephora is already present in 34 markets worldwide and it is the perfect time to offer Hong Kong the very best selection of beauty products in a brick and mortar setting, combined with uniquely personalised services that surprise and delight our clients better than anybody else.”
To celebrate its grand opening, Sephora Hong Kong will offer complementary ferry rides between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central on the opening day. The first 300 customers will also be gifted a surprise goodie bag of Sephora’s must-haves and best-sellers.
