It is no secret that Sydney Sweeney is a go-getter. As soon as she knew she wanted to be an actress, she presented a five-year plan to convince her parents, a doctor and a lawyer, to let her pursue a career in film — and all at the age of 12.

If you’ve come across a video of a blonde fixing up a cherry red 1969 Ford Bronco on TikTok, it’s probably Sydney Sweeney. Over the past year, the actress has unveiled her inner vintage car aficionado via her account @syds_garage, where she has been sharing her journey in fixing up her dream car with her fans. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed that her love for cars was ignited by her babysitters, who used to be race car drivers. “I’d go to the track a lot, and I thought I was going to be a race car driver when I grew up”, she shared.
She is a trained MMA fighter

We all know Sweeney can put up a good fight — the MTV Best Fight Award she won for her fight scene as Cassie with Alexa Demie in Euphoria is solid proof. But did you know that the lauded actress is a trained mixed martial artist too? The actress started participating in the sport when she was 14, and at 18 years old she was already competing in her first MMA competition and went on to win first place against young men who were one weight category above her. She has also trained with some of the senseis of WWE superstar Ronda Rousey.

Apart from flaunting her talents before the camera, she has also been steering the wheel behind the lens with her own production company Fifty-Fifty Films, which she launched in 2020. Her first project is already in the works: a new HBO Max series The Players Table starring Sweeney herself alongside her good friend and singer Halsey created based on Jessica Goodman’s novel They Wish They Were Us in collaboration with Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross’ Crazyrose and Endeavor Content.
The name of her production company comes from her belief that good things always come from collaborative experiences, she explained at the Emmys, “I always like to be fifty-fifty with all my partners.” Now, Sweeney has successfully acquired the rights to nine projects through Fifty-Fifty Films — expect more adaptations of stories by first-time female authors, up-and-coming female screenwriters and directors
She writes a book for every character she portrays

To fully immerse herself in her roles, Sweeney revealed that she would pen diary entries, create memory books and even paint pictures as her characters. In fact, during the casting process for Quentin Tarintino’s Once Upon A Time In…Hollywood, she wrote a love letter through the eyes of one of his characters. The letter left such a lasting impression on Tarintino that he asked to keep the only copy!
