Who is BabyMonster?

BabyMonster is YG Entertainment’s first girl group in seven years since Blackpink.

How was BabyMonster formed?

BabyMonster was formed by an eight-episode reality series BABYMONSTER ‘Last Evaluation’, produced by YG Entertainment.

Who are the BabyMonster members?

BabyMonster is made up of seven members, including three Korean members, Haram, Ahyeon and Rora; two Japanese members, Ruka and Asa; and two Thai members, Pharita and Chiquita.

The first member to be chosen for the final line-up of BabyMonster was 15-year-old Ahyeon, who has garnered global attention for her all-rounded talents in singing, rap and dance, as well as her physical resemblance to her YG senior, Blackpink’s Jennie.

All eyes are also on 13-year-old Thai member Chiquita, the youngest of the group. Despite having the shortest training period of one year and nine months, she has displayed immense growth throughout the reality series. According to BabyMonster’s choreographer and dance teacher, Leejung Lee, Chiquita’s strength lies in her “ability to steal people’s attention”, and she “has the potential to become a performer like (Blackpink’s) Lisa”.

What are the positions of each BabyMonster member?

While the official positions of BabyMonster members have not been announced, YG Entertainment’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk stated that Ahyeon “has the skills and abilities to lead BabyMonster.”

Japanese members Ruka and Asa are particularly skilled in rap and dance, while Pharita, Haram, Ahyeon, Rora, and Chiquita are all strong vocalists with their own unique styles.

When is BabyMonster debuting?

BabyMonster’s debut date has not been confirmed. However, the girl group just released their pre-debut song Dream, which illustrates the hardships of pursuing their dreams and becoming BabyMonster.
