Though Korean superstars BTS have been on an “offseason” (as Suga puts it) for roughly four months now, various surprise projects just keep on coming. Members j-hope and Jin have already released new music, and because BTS is a gift that keeps on giving, more is on the way.

As it turns out, renowned singer, producer and all around multi-hyphenate Pharrell Williams has called on the voices of the world’s biggest pop group for his upcoming album, Phriends. Pharrell revealed the news during a profound conversation with BTS leader RM for the latest instalment of the Rolling Stone magazine’s Musicians on Musicians package. “I’m actually talking about this way more than I’m supposed to, but it’s a song from my new album that [BTS] sang and it’s amazing,” he confessed.
Both artists appeared decidedly excited about the upcoming song, with RM saying “I just love this song”, and Pharrell following up with even more praise: “Everyone that hears it is like, ‘Whoa’.”
The interview also disclosed that RM’s solo music is currently in the works. The rapper mentioned that his first official album was about 90 percent finished, to which Pharrell offered to pitch in for the remaining ten. Who would have known that a fateful meeting between Pharrell and BTS back in 2018 would lead to all of this? Army, probably.
