Six months after stepping down as senior royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kickstarted the next phase of their careers in LA – signing a multi-year deal with Netflix, according to The New York Times. The agreement will see Harry and Meghan develop documentary series, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s content – all of which will be exclusively available via the streaming giant. While the Duchess has made it clear that she has no intention of returning to acting following her departure from Suits, it is possible that both she and Harry will appear on camera in factual shows.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple explained of the deal. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us,” they added – noting that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach” with 193 million subscribers would help them “share impactful content that unlocks action”.

Since relocating to California earlier this year, Harry and Meghan have been quietly devoting themselves to charitable work – delivering food to those in need through Project Angel Food over the Easter weekend; baking with the charitable initiative Homeboy Industries; and distributing essentials such as nappies and wipes to mothers in need via Baby2Baby. Most recently, on 31 August, the couple paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, on the anniversary of her death by planting forget-me-nots with the children at the Preschool Learning Centre at the Assistance League of Los Angeles.
