The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a new picture of baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in celebration of Father’s Day. In the sepia photograph, which was posted by @sussexroyal, the couple’s Instagram account, their first-born is holding his father’s finger. “Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to the Duke of Sussex,” read the caption.

The photo of one-month-old Archie is the third time his parents have given the public a glimpse of their son. After introducing him to the world on May 8 via a photocall at Windsor Castle, @sussexroyal posted an image of Meghan cradling him in honour of the American Mother’s Day on May 12. Only the baby’s toes wrapped in a white knitted blanket were visible.
The Father’s Day message follows news of Archie’s christening, which will take place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in July. Meghan and Harry married there on May 19 2018, and Harry was also baptised at the place of worship in 1984. The Queen’s eighth great-grandchild will be two months old when his brow is doused in holy water by the Dean of Windsor, the Reverend David Conner, and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who are expected to lead the service. Her Majesty will be absent from the day due to prior commitments, according to The Sunday Times.
Harry’s brother, Prince William, was celebrated over on @kensington royal, the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The post of William playing with his son Louis in Kate’s Chelsea Flower Show garden simply read: “Happy Father’s Day!” Both family’s social moments have garnered hundreds of thousands of likes.
