Congratulations are in order for Michelle Yeoh and her long-time fiancé Jean Todt. The legendary Malaysian actor, who won the best actress Oscar earlier this year for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, and her now-husband, the former CEO of Ferrari, tied the knot on Thursday, 27 July, at a romantic ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland. The news was confirmed via an Instagram post from the veteran Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, who attended the festivities earlier this week.
Yeoh and Todt’s love story dates back to 2004 – and more specifically, to 4 June of that year. After first meeting at the Shanghai Grand Prix, less than two months later, on 26 July 2004, Todt proposed to Yeoh. While the busy couple spend most of their year travelling, over the decades they have maintained homes in Paris, Geneva and Ipoh, Malaysia, where Yeoh was born. Todt can be regularly spotted supporting Yeoh on the red carpet at her endless roll-call of premieres and galas: he accompanied her to the Academy Awards earlier this year, where Yeoh became the first Asian woman in history to win the best actress award. The pair were most recently pictured together doing the rounds at Cannes Film Festival in May.

While details of the wedding have mostly been kept under wraps, Massa’s Instagram post offered a peek inside the intimate ceremony which took place in a historic villa in a leafy suburb of the Swiss city. “Today, after 6992 days, on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!” the programme for the ceremony read. For the big day, Yeoh wore a nude lace dress with a silk bodice, while in another image, she could be seen wearing a white silk button-down with a matching white tiered skirt.
Arguably the best moment was a selfie taken by Massa with the happy couple, in which Yeoh could be spotted clutching her golden Oscars statuette. “For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” she said in her emotional acceptance speech at the awards show earlier this year. What better good luck charm could there be to accompany you on your wedding day than that?
