Born on May 15, 2006 in Seoul, Haerin is the group’s second youngest member. Of the group, Hyein is the youngest member at 15-years-old and Minji the oldest at 19. However, the group’s meteoric ascent to success proves that they don’t kid around. One of the quintet’s title tracks “Hype Boy” charted on Billboard Global 200 for 37 consecutive weeks, setting the longest record from any K-pop female act. If you still needed convincing about the power of Gen-Z, these girls are the ultimate proof.
She became a Dior ambassador at 16-years-old

In April 2023, Dior named Haerin the global ambassador for jewellery and house ambassador for fashion and beauty. This makes her the first K-pop artist to be named ambassador for all these categories simultaneously. The partnership has further brought out Haerin’s multifaceted style as she rocks Dior pieces in both preppy and casual ensembles. We’ll often see her pairing short Dior dresses with Mary Janes and long socks, but on other occasions she’s all bout elevating a baggy hoodie and leg warmers with a brown Dior saddle bag.
Her family dog is a pomeranian named Bangle
Despite being known for her cat-like looks, Haerin is actually dog mom to a light brown pomeranian named Banggeul. In October last year, she shared a series of playful selfies of the two of them together. They say that dogs look like their owners — what do you think?
Her signature pose is the rhombus heart
On a whim, Haerin created an original pose now known as the rhombus heart. The story goes that the group was asked to do the heart sign, but Haerin’s instincts called for something different— her index and middle fingers met instead at 90-degree angles, forming a unique diamond shape. Since then, this pose has become her signature and can even be spotted in NewJeans’ “OMG” music video.
Her comfort food is Yubuchobap

During a live broadcast on NewJeans’ Phoning app, Haerin shared that her favourite food is yubuchobap — a snack made of fried beancurd pockets stuffed with seasoned rice. The star has been eating this since she was little and recommends it for picnics. Try out her recommendation next time you find yourself dreaming up a date at the park!
