Blokes? Fashion? Somehow they’re connected. The microtrend ‘blokecore’ is characterised by football jerseys, sporty tracksuit tops and a girly element sprinkled into the mix. We have seen many a fashion house come up with their own version of a sporty tee, Balenciaga has done it, Marc Jacob’s sister brand Heaven has done it, the question is: who hasn’t?
A popular shoe that we have seen dominate the blokecore sphere is the Samba. Are we even surprised? Bella Hadid is indisputably the trailblazer for the now ubiquitous trainers which had once dominated pitches. The Sambas were actually specifically designed for footballers to train on icy surfaces. And now they’ve become the trademark it-girl shoe.

You too, can channel your inner bloke with a little help. Here are some items we have picked out to kick you off this football season. The goal? To look cute.
She’s A Keeper
The ‘bloke’ part of blokecore originates from football. Think football jerseys, sporty zip-ups and the like. Pull a Kim K and buy a vintage footy tee, or why not opt for an oversized men’s fit to throw over a mini skirt.
Time For Kickoff
What was the old adage? A pair of sambas a day keeps the fashion police away? From the Sporty x Rich to the Wales Bonner collab, pick your player.
