Whether you like it or not, trends from the early 2000s are officially back. Styles synonymous with the era, including micro handbags, midriff-baring tops and lots of bling, have appeared throughout the years, making a particularly notable comeback for spring/summer 2021.
Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian West and a long list of other celebs have also been sporting ’00s-era inspired pieces. Last autumn, the two BFFs sent the internet abuzz as they jointly starred in Kim Kardashian West’s SKIMS velour campaign – both wore matching tracksuits and Louis Vuitton Monogram Miroir Alma bags, just like they did back in the early noughties. Hilton, who recently got engaged to beau Carter Reum, is known for her love of ’00s-style dressing.
If you’re looking to find chic outfits inspired by the early aughts, then don’t panic. Designers have dreamed up their own contemporary renditions of Y2K-inspired styles this season. We approve.
