Maison Margiela’s First “Broken Mirror” Pop-Up Lands In Hong Kong

Maison Margiela brings the world’s first “Broken Mirror” pop-up to Pacific Place in Hong Kong. This immersive space captures a moment frozen in time. The body of the pop-up – a shattered mirror cube – alludes to the fragility of our existence. Visitors enter to the sound of breaking glass playing in the background, provoking reflection on the passage of time. The pop-up showcases the new Broken Mirror Tabi, as well as the iconic 5AC and Glam Slam bags in silver metallic leather. As the leather cracks with ageing, the natural calf leather beneath is revealed, making each item a unique testament to the brand’s philosophy of authenticity and self-expression.

The Autumn/Winter 2024 “Informal Formality” collection draws inspiration from screen legend Katharine Hepburn. This collection features tailored silhouettes and elevated workwear, challenging traditional gender norms while reimagining classic styles. Accents of collegiate colours like burgundy and dark green are paired with soft pastels, encapsulating Hepburn’s rebellious spirit and nonchalant sophistication.
