What does “strength” mean to you? How would you define it?
He Cong: To me, strength embodies the resilience of the heart—the unwavering will to confront challenges with confidence and surmount them. It empowers me to navigate life with greater fortitude and self-assurance.
In your life experiences or daily life, what people or things give you strength? For example, what makes you feel powerful and motivated?
He Cong: I find profound fulfilment in the act of finishing a book. Given the rarity of quiet moments to immerse myself in reading, the experience of exploring new realms and gaining fresh perspectives invigorates my spirit and fills me with strength.
You began your modeling journey with a sense of curiosity, and now you stand as one of the most prominent models in China, achieving remarkable success on the international fashion stage. What advantages do you believe you possess? Since your debut, have there been any unforgettable memories?
He Cong: I strive to maintain a calm disposition towards my surroundings, focusing solely on my responsibilities. Occasionally, while browsing through old photographs on my phone, the vivid memories of past events resurface. Each show and every shoot represents an unforgettable experience, a treasure worth cherishing.
Have you ever faced adversity or difficulties? How do you handle them?
He Cong: Challenges are inevitable, and I firmly believe that every problem has a solution. Throughout these experiences, it’s vital to uphold a positive mindset, nourish oneself well, and ensure adequate rest.
Is there anyone in the fashion industry that you look up to?
He Cong: Many seasoned professionals serve as inspirations to me. I hold a deep admiration for Julia Nobis; every time I see her backstage, I feel a rush of excitement. Her dedication to her craft over many years resonates with me, and I truly appreciate her steadfast commitment.
What is your life motto?
He Cong: I believe in living positively and prioritizing restful sleep! (laughs) As my work often leads to an unpredictable schedule, it’s essential to find balance.
What is your daily life like? What do you do when you’re not working?
He Cong: I cherish the leisurely days spent at home, allowing myself to unwind in solitude. Yet, I also relish outings with friends, exploring new places and enjoying good food. Haha, when I have free time, I prefer to follow my whims and simply enjoy life.
If one day you were to stop being a model, what do you hope to pursue?
He Cong: That’s an intriguing question! I often ponder this as well. Modeling has afforded me invaluable experiences and a broader worldview, inspiring countless aspirations. However, my current focus lies in discovering ways to deliver more enriching and captivating content to my audience.
