Leather is one of the chicest fabrics for autumn, appearing in abundance for AW19. At brands like Alexander Wang and A.W.A.K.E. MODE, early-2000s Matrix looks were revisited through long and short coats streamlined with an edge of utility — think black minimalistic leather paired with barely-there shades and heavy-duty boots. On the runways of Salvatore Ferragamo and Tom Ford, sleek, head-to-toe ensembles layered leather over leather to highlight its timeless allure. Bottega Veneta experimented with its proprietary intrecciato weave, sending textured leather pieces of moto-inspired sophistication, while Fendi and Hermès showcased soft pared-down tailoring in beige and umber tones.
