The Fall/Winter 2019 fashion week cycle has now landed in New York City, where the runways displayed new ready-to-wear collections and the streets bore witness to another round of stylish outfits.
This season saw the delights of designers Helmut Lang and Proenza Schouler return to their hometown, Longchamp and Tom Ford host star-studded shows, and the likes of Eckhaus Latta and Bode charge the lineup with fresh, young talent. On the streets, New Yorkers showed a preference for sepia palettes materialized in mixed materials such as leather, ribbed knit, velvet and fur. Plaid, check prints and stripes also made a big statement, as did puffer jackets for silhouettes. While some show-goers embraced the cold with plush coats, others channeled warm weather vibes with mismatched animal prints, clashing tie-dye and safari khakis.
