Renowned Chinese fine jeweller Qeelin has opened its new boutique in the heart of Paris at Place Vendôme, commemorating the brand’s fifteenth anniversary and marking the first Chinese jewellery shop to set foot on the legendary Parisian square.
From China to Paris, Qeelin’s new two-floor boutique creates a cultural exchange between the East and the West, immersing visitors into a world of Pekinese hutongs and 1920s Art Deco where red bamboo stems are met with stylised chevron parquet floors so typical of Parisian charm. A curved metal staircase leads up to the second floor where the ceiling’s four inclined planes and brass centre echo the slate roofs of the imperial palace temples, while mercury mirrors dotted with lead are reminiscent of those hung in the aristocratic quarters of 18th-century France.
Here, as you sip on rare teas from China served in authentic cast iron teapots, luxurious jewels like the Wulu earrings, the Bo Bo pendant, and Yu Yi ring reveal themselves like objects in a cabinet of curiosities against the hushed ambiance of a salon. To celebrate the opening of the new boutique is a limited edition Wulu necklace made of natural grade A sculpted jade, diamonds and 18K rose gold limited to just 28 pieces worldwide — an ode to the number 8 symbolizing opulence in traditional Chinese culture.
