British fashion designer Victoria Beckham continues her ongoing partnership with Reebok, launching a third collaborative collection entitled “Essential Purism.” The latest release combines ‘90s sportswear elements with Reebok’s archival designs, creating a retro-tinged yet modern range of streetwear staples as fit for everyday life as for the gym.
Centre to the collection are matching sets and separates in a variety of colours, ranging from vibrant Klein blue to a washed-out coral that nods to California surf culture. Sportswear pieces are made of technical materials such as sweat-wicking and UV 50 protection fabrics, while layering pieces such as bombers, hoodies, and sweatshirts are fabricated in plush Japanese terrycloth. This collection also introduces its first-ever knitwear piece, a tank and knicker set, which is finished in breathable woven cotton and silk blend. “Purity of design and brutalism of functionality with an element of softness and movement were the key pillars for this collection,” said Beckham.
The new Rapide sneaker mirrors the streamlined shapes of the ready-to-wear range, boasting a low-top, elongated silhouette in a single colour, whereas the accessories bring together runway-inspired cross-body bags with beach-ready totes. “There should be an effortlessness with streetwear,” said Beckham. “These pieces have been thoughtfully and meticulously designed to offer optimum performance functionality for the gym, but equally are tactile, adaptable, and directional for all other facets of life.”
