Fendi’s Autumn/Winter 2020 show was a celebration of femininity “from the boudoir to the boardroom” with outfits that riffed on old Hollywood glamour and ‘40s Femme-Fatales. Silvia Venturini Fendi put an emphasis on the curve, both in the model casting — plus-size model Paloma Elsesser shared the runway with the likes of Kaia Gerber and the Hadid sisters — as well silhouette, which highlighted tubular pouf sleeves and defined waists.
Monochrome coats and dresses materialised in ribbed mohair, satin and velvet, as well as plush knits and fur, offset by delicate Chantilly lace and leather for range. A soft bubblegum pink lead the colour palette, complimented by muted grays, brown and black with occasional splashes of yellow and graphic paisley prints. In the accessories department, ladylike handbags were met with Instagram-worthy hits, including mega-sized Fendi shopping bags with tiny bag charms.
