3.森山未來
參與《在世界的中心呼喊愛》、《五個撲水的少年》等作品，並曾入圍日本電影金像獎男主角的日本實力派演員森山未來，在 #東京奧運開幕禮上表演舞蹈，紀念疫情中喪生的人。雖然演技出眾但其實他是舞者出身，在會場上展現於他的實力。

4.「木」的傳統表演
以木工為主題進行傳統表演，今屆奧運其中一個主題為環保，日本以木材砌成奧運標誌，其中最有意義的是其中一個木材是以1964年種植的木。

5.動漫元素
在各代表隊入場時，加入了不少動漫元素，包括以動漫中說話框為展現代表隊地方的牌，還播著國民級遊戲《勇者鬥惡龍》及《Final Fantasy》的音樂。除了入場之外，動漫主題曲一直為開幕禮的背景音樂。
