Met Gala晚宴座位表多久開始準備？要花多久時間？
作為每年負責Met Gala晚宴活動的人，Eaddy Kiernan表示他們在前一年12月（也就是Met Gala舉辦半年前）就會開始建立座位信息文檔，「但真正的座位表要到活動開始前一個月才會好，因為到那時候我們才知道房間的整體佈局和整個晚會的主題。」Kiernan和她的團隊將會耗費整個四月的時間，反覆調整這張座位表。

座位表是根據什麼規則安排的？
每年那麼多的明星名人，Met Gala的座位表要如何排呢？是根據明星的地位、輩份，還是字首字母順序？其實都不是。「我們會非常仔細地思考要將誰安排誰的旁邊。最理想的配對是將兩個能夠產生火花，但彼此又還沒意識到他們之間有如此共同之處的人安排在一起。所以我們需要花非常多的時間來研究每一位來賓，思考他們到底會聊些什麼呢？」Eaddy Kiernan解釋道。

餐桌要怎麼佈置？菜品又是如何選擇的？
由於每年Met Gala的主題會更改，整個房間內的裝飾風格也會隨之變化。而為了讓美味佳餚來賓能夠看到舞台，要怎麼調整餐桌的位置也非常重要。Kiernan對此說道：「我們會就座位的視線斟酌，還有思考每一個人曾坐過什麼地方，確保不會有人遇到前任的目光。」
而每一年的菜品也會根據每一年的主題作出改變。比如2023年以「Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty」為題，整個用餐環境會讓賓客們想起Karl Lagerfeld家裏的圖書館，而菜品都以Lagerfeld最愛的菜餚為主，客人將享用冰鎮豌豆湯、蔬菜、Ōra King帝皇三文魚、檸檬奶油松露、蘆筍、韭菜草莓和蘿蔔等。此外，像芫荽、洋蔥、大蒜這樣具有濃厚味道的食物則不被允許。

回顧歷年Met Gala晚宴設計
雖然Met Gala的賓客列表每年都會變化，但Kiernan保存了她負責的每張座位表，而這一張張座位表也無意間記載下來了過去幾年間流行文化的變遷。Kiernan說：「回頭再看這些過去的座位表就會覺得非常有趣，看看誰曾經被邀請了，誰和誰坐在一起過，像是一個個時間膠囊。」
