與劉俊謙見面交談後，心中對「專業」二字的感覺更踏實了。平日甚少社交的他，斯文內斂話不多。將心思都放在做好作品，呈現角色的內心世界，就是劉俊謙成為演員的初衷。每接一份新劇本，與導演溝通、跟演員討論劇情、和團隊構思如何表現角色的各個內心層面，研討過程中產生的火花，都是他所享受的點滴，也是構成他熱愛演戲的原因。不單如此，演繹每個角色對劉俊謙來說，就像「模擬人生」的遊戲，從故事背景了解人物設定的因由，以及角色在劇中的情感發展。

在電影《幻愛》，他了解角色心理的過程中，認識了精神病患者的內心世界；在《此時此刻》中飾演聽障人士，也透過摸索角色從而了解他們世界的獨特一面。對於自己工作的態度，他說：「不論是文藝片、劇情片，還是武打戲碼，全部作品我都不是十分手到拿來，反而每次新的經歷都像在重新學習一個新知識、新技能；令我體會深刻的，是我不希望自己在演出過更多不同種類的戲碼之後，就覺得自己『有足夠經驗、懂得怎麼演』的想法，要保持感恩和謙虛，才能持續有好的發揮、而且我不相信做戲會有十足把握，要有冒險的精神，有可能結果不盡如意，但以還是這個心態去嘗試。這讓我想起侯孝賢導演，在我看來，不論是他在創作的過程還是成品，他都是很誠實地做自己，就算在作品面世之後獲得很多國際性的獎項，得到人們的認可和尊敬。但這些都是後話，對他來說，他們都是一直在堅持做自己想做的主題、寫劇本、創作、找演員，一切都是忠於自己」。

整個拍攝，劉俊謙沒有展現過一絲疲態，也很耐心配合團隊。他清楚大家都是各自人生中的過客，有些人在年少時互相啟發不少，有些則在另一階段成為自己的榜樣，但每個人的生命都在延續，各自演變著，無法預測未來將發生什麼事。
